GOLF: Behind the strong play of Jamie Stevenson, the BYU women's golf team moved up a notch to eighth place after two rounds at the Diet Coke/Roadrunner Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M., on Tuesday.
The Cougs shot a second day team total of 320, giving them a tournament total of 658. Stevenson shot a second round 78.
Utah State
GOLF: Utah State's Todd Tanner earned medalist honors with a two-day 147 and led the Aggies (604) to a team victory at the Stevenson Ranch/Stanislaus Golf Tournament Tuesday. The tourney was shortened to 36 holes because of incelement weather.
FOOTBALL: Utah State senior placekicker Micah Knorr has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Collegiate Placekicker Award. Knorr has connected on 12-of-20 field goals and 30-of-31 extra-point attempts.

WOMEN'S GOLF: The Weber State women's golf team is tied for 15th place after the second round at the San Diego State Aldila Fall Classic.
