Walter Henry "Pete", beloved husband and father, age 73, died of brain cancer in his Denver, Colorado home, October 16, 1996.

Services were held October 21, 1996 in Englewood, Colo. Burial, Chapel Hill Cemetery, Littleton, Colo.Pete was born December 9, 1922 in Provo, Utah, the eleventh child of immigrant parents from Hanover, Germany. He excelled in sports at Provo High School, Class of '41 and Brigham Young University class of '48, particularly in basketball. Enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1942, served in the Pacific Theater until February of 1946. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action and the Bronze Star for meritorious service.

Pete married Carol Hilton, August 11, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed by Continental Oil Co., as a sales manager until his retirement in 1978. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many leadership positions. Pete was an avid gardener and since retirement operated a successful gardening business. He was preceded in death by: Hannah Hasler, Judith Prusse, Alfred Prusse, Erich Prusse.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Ellen Timmreck, San Bernardino, Calif.; and Joan Hilton Prusse, Denver, Colo.; three sons, Roger Kurt Prusse, Littleton, Colo.; Garn Hilton Prusse, Aurora, Colo.; and Brian Gill Prusse, Heber City; six sisters, Evelyn Merkley, Irmgard Taylor, both of Salt Lake City; Ruth Lundquist, Longview, Wash.; Margaret Gamble, Cedar City; Dorothy Bailie, Ivans, UT; Norma Thompson, Portland, Oregon; two brothers, William D. Prusse, Denver Colo.; Ralph E. Prusse, Chico, Calif.
