Beginning Monday, Nov. 4, Christmas tree cutting permits will be on sale in the Dixie and Arizona Strip district offices of the Bureau of Land Management and in the Pine Valley and Cedar City Forest Service ranger districts.
The Forest Service permits will also be sold in Washington County at Veyo Mercantile and at Cottonwood Inn in Enterprise.Permits are $5 each and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Forest Service officials have placed a limit of one permit per family or up to five permits per person if the purchaser has additional addresses. BLM permits are limited to two trees per household. No mail-in requests will be accepted. Christmas tree and fuel wood permits, area cutting maps, local weather and other detailed information may be obtained by visiting the Interagency Information Center, 345 E. Riverside Drive, St. George, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Call 628-4491 for more information.
