LiJuan Situ Young, age 44, of Salt Lake City, died October 25, 1996 at Columbia St. Mark's Hospital of a massive stroke.
She was born in Guangzhou, China, Feb. 12, 1952 to Yu Chang Situ and Yin Xiu Deng. She married Darrell T. Young on Feb. 23, 1991 in Salt Lake City.LiJuan grew up in Guangzhou, China and attend schools in Guangzhou. She survived the political turmoil of the Red Guard and observed the evolving of a freer, open society in China. She worked over 20 years in a steel and iron factory as a bookkeeper in Guangzhou. LiJuan then moved to Salt Lake City in Feb. 1991 to get married. She then worked over five years as a sewing machine operator/seamstress. She was employed by Calcio United Industries near the time of death. She was a member of the LDS Church.
LiJuan is survived by husband, Darrell of Salt Lake City; father and mother, Yu Chang and Yin Xiu, Guangzhou, China; younger sister, Li Hsien, Guangzhou; and three younger brothers, Kuo Chu, Kuo Liang, Kuo Han, all of Guangzhou.
Her remains were cremated Oct. 29, 1996. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 31, 1996, 10 a.m. at the Emerson Ward, Sugarhouse Stake Chapel, 1700 South 1100 East, Salt Lake City.
