A Levan, Juab County, boy has been released from Primary Children's Medical Center after being seriously injured in an accidental shooting.

Kevin Marshall, 11, and a friend were playing in a bedroom at the friend's home when the accident occurred, said Juab County Sheriff David Carter. The boys were moving some things in a closet where a loaded gun had been stored."The gun tipped over and a bullet struck the boy in the lower lip," Carter said.

An East Juab County Ambulance crew was summoned to the home, said Carter. The boy quit breathing and had to be resuscitated several times while en route to Central Valley Medical Center. He was later transferred by air ambulance to the Salt Lake hospital for additional treatment. He was released Sunday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Marshall may need some reconstructive facial surgery in the future, the sheriff said.
