Our loving father, grandfather and husband, Raymond A. Fivas, 73, passed on to our Heavenly Father on Oct. 29, 1996. He fought a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.

Ray was born October 1, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Emma Widmark and Peter George Fivas. Served in the Army during World War II. Married Julia Adamson of American Fork, Utah on July 21, 1946. Ray was considered by many as one of the best upholsterers in the valley. He worked at Zion's Upholstering his entire working life (40 years +). In his earlier years, he spent much of his time with his boys in youth Little League baseball. He coached and encouraged many other youngsters along the way. He loved all sports.Ray retired from upholstering in 1985 and then enjoyed visiting his family and friends and going to the Senior Citizens Center in Murray, Utah, where he played pool and cards with his brothers and others.

Survived by wife, Julia, his four sons, Rex (JoAnn), Steven, David (Dixie), Paul (Jacque) and daughter-like granddaughter, Kim Robertson (John), his brothers, George (Millie), Edmond, Jerry (Alaire), Conrad (Wanda), his sister, Clara Gandy and 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Stanley and John and grandson, Shaun.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 2, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Redwood Chapel, 6500 So. Redwood Road. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services.

Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
