ABC is getting a little help from its owner on Sunday, and the result is fine family viewing - the broadcast premiere of the 1994 Disney animated film "The Lion King."
This is the quickest one of Disney's big-budget animation projects has ever made it onto network television. And that, of course, is no coincidence. It was a business decision, pure and simple.
Disney now owns ABC, and ABC could use all the ratings help it can get these days. Thus, the early appearance of "The Lion King" on the network.
