C. David Nyman, assistant dean of continuing education at Southern Utah University, has been elected to the board of directors of the Western Association of Summer Session Administrators.
As a director on the three-member board, Nyman will advance and become the WASSA president in 1999, the same year that SUU will host the annual conference for the organization.Thirteen states and four Canadian provinces are included in the association. Nyman's election came at WASSA's annual conference hosted by the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
WASSA is part of the larger North American Association of Summer Sessions, which includes schools from all over North America. Vice presidents, deans and directors of summer sessions comprise both organizations. The three WASSA directors conduct the program of the organization including the planning and programming for annual meetings.
