Lynwood A. Wardell, 77, died November 9, 1996, in a West Jordan hospital following a short illness.
Born August 19, 1919, in East Millcreek, Utah, to George Aaron and Annie Atkinson Wardell. Married Sylvia Butterfield July 1, 1944, in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was active in the LDS Church, was a high priest, served a church service mission with his wife. He was very family oriented and his family always came first.
Survived by his wife, Sylvia of Riverton; children, Steven and Ellen, Neil and Keva, all of Riverton, Sheila and Jay Weaver of Draper, and Jeannette and Wally Evans of South Jordan; 19 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Douglas Wardell of Castro Valley, Calif.; Ruth Reynolds of Montana; Hal Wardell of Arlington, Texas; and Annie Hansen of Tracy, California.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Riverton 4th Ward, 12574 South 1700 West. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, and on Wednesday, one hour prior to services at the church. Interment in the Herriman Cemetery.
