SHARE DEATH: WALTER O. PETERSON

Walter O. Peterson, age 92, died peacefully at his home, November 13, 1996 in Salt Lake City following a short illness.

Born August 18, 1904 in Salt Lake City to Charles Joseph and Mary Alice Lemmon Peterson. Married Auline Norberg, September 1, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was founder of Sugar House Awning and Canvas Products in 1941 and worked actively until 1995. He was a mentor to many children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an example of hard work, integrity and honesty. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, he served in many leadership positions. He and his wife fulfilled a mission to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1979. He loved his family dearly and his family returned that love.Survived by wife, children; Donna Mae Hart, Carroll (Donald C.) Sevy, Dr. Elden W. (Barbara) Peterson, all of Salt Lake City; Kathryn (Dr. D. Lynn) Jones of Chandler, Ariz.; Walter O. (Susan) Peterson, Jr., Marian (Rand M.) Perrier, all of Salt Lake City; 35 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Joseph Peterson II; sisters, Mary Alice (J.LeRoy) Crane, Afton (Lisle H.) Eddington. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Neal W. Hart; two great-grandchildren, David Hart and Jeremy Hart; brothers, Willard and Elden Peterson; sisters, Erma Peterson, Maud (Joe) Ellyas and Vera (Henry W.) Richards.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, November 18, 1996 in the Highland Park Ward Chapel, 2535 South Douglas Street (1240 East). Friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
