The remains of another victim from the July 17 crash of TWA Flight 800 have been recovered and positively identified, the medical examiner's office announced Friday.
A forensic radiologist identified the remains through the use of X-rays, the Suffolk County medical examiner's office said. The family of the victim has requested that the name not be released, it said. The remains were recovered last week, when investigators began dredging with scallop boats to scoop up pieces of the plane that had been buried in the ocean floor. It was only the second time in the past two months that remains had been found.
The discovery raises to 215 the number of victims' remains received by the medical examiner's office, with 214 positive identifications.
