Mary Thelma Cox Greenwood passed away in Taylorsville on November 18, 1996 of Alzheimer's Disease.
Thelma was born July 2, 1909 in Huntington, Utah, the second child of Albey Elias and Edith Emily Hardee Cox. She married David Hartley Greenwood on November 28, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away on July 10, 1993.She was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. She was a devoted and effective teacher of the gospel. She served a mission in Arizona with Hartley in the 1970's and loved to go to the temple. She had great devotion to her family.
She is survived by five children: Lorraine and Thomas Shilton of Ventura, California; Noal and Claudine Greenwood of Lindon; Lynn and Mariet Greenwood of Alpine; Val and Peggy Greenwood of Taylorsville; and Colleen and Dennis Gailey of Fallon, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her eldest son Gale. She has 27 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers and sisters A. Earl Cox, Nola Hansen, and Norman Cox.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
