Delbert Morris Sutton, 79, passed away Sunday, November 17, 1996 of causes incident to age.
He was born July 12, 1917 in Kemmerer, Wyo., a son of Edward and Mary Ann Morris Sutton. He was married Oct. 1, 1939 to Evelyn Oliver Sutton in Fort Collins, Colo.In his early years, he worked for the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific Railroads. He was a Civil Service employee and retired from Hill Air Force Base after 30 years of service.
Del graduated from Kemmerer High School where he was All State in Basketball. He then attended the University of Wyoming.
After his retirement, Del and Evelyn spent many winters in Borrego Springs, Calif.; Yuma, Ariz.; and St. George, Utah. They have lived in Clearfield for 35 years and Layton for the past nine years.
He was a member of the Country Oaks LDS Ward.
Surviving are his wife of Layton; two sons, Rick (Marcia) Sutton, Ogden; Ken (DeAnn) Sutton, Jackson, Wyoming; and one daughter, Carol Sutton, Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, William E. Sutton, Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
Friends may call at Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1074 No. Fairfield Rd., Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist Memorial Park in Layton.
