MEN'S TENNIS: The BYU men's doubles team of Boris Bosnjakovic and Manuel Calvo advanced to the semifinals of the Rolex Region VII ITA Tennis Championships in Tucson, Ariz. on Friday.
Bosnjakovic and Calvo needed three tough matches to advance to the final four.
In singles action, Bosnjakovic and Calvo did not fare quite as well. Both were defeated in their quarterfinal matches.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Sophomore forward Shauna Rohbock scored both goals as BYU defeated Cal State Fullerton 2-1 Friday night. The victory improves the Cougars record to 18-1.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: Angie Olson and Linda Engblom will face Kim Kelly and Megan Payne in the Flight 1&2 doubles final today at the University of Utah. The all-Utah final was made possible when Kelly and Payne defeated a tough BYU tandem in Angela Jewell and Juliet Alder 8-1, and Engblom and Olson reached the final by coming back from down 6-3 in the tie breaker to win 9-8 (8-6).
In singles action, Engblom lost to BYU's Jewell 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Jewell will face teammate Eline Chiew in the finals of Flight 1. In flights 3&4, Utah freshman Kim Kelly reached the semifinals, and was defeated by Emily Smith of Colorado 7-5, 7-6 (7-3). In consolation play, Utah's freshman Ashley Taylor will face Washington State's Mary Ferrandez in the finals.
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Utah defeated Cal. State Northridge today 5-1 (12-5-1, 1-3-1 WAC). Jacki Doman brought in two goals and one assist for the Utes increasing her season scoring total to 20 with nine assists.
WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Westminster lost its season finale to Snow College 15-1, 15-8, 15-10. The Lady Parsons finsh their first season with a winless 0-18 record. Snow improves to 14-21 and faces Dixie College in its regular-season finale.
SLCC MEN'S BASKETBALL: The Bruins beat Western Wyoming 74-67, as Traimaille Bullock tallied 17 points and 12 rebounds and SLCC teammate Ryan Halliday added 16 points.
