SHARE UTAH FILMMAKERS’ WORKS BEING SHOWN

The Utah Film & Video Center presents "An Evening of Films and Videos by Mel Halbach," a collection of short works by the Utah filmmaker, on Friday, Nov. 22.

Halbach, a former youth counselor and ice cream salesman, has made more than a dozen short films and videos since 1986. He is currently working on "The Long-Haired Warriors," a documentary about the experiences of Vietnamese women who fought against the U.S. and South Vietnamese armies during the Vietnam conflict.Included in the program will be "Malignant," "The Marble Mountain Girls Take Mr. Meow," "Pigskin Serenade" and "Station-wagon," as well as a preview of "The Long-Haired Warriors."

Admission for the program, which starts at 8 p.m. in the Salt Lake Art Center's Creer Auditorium, is $5. For more information on it or other film center presentations, call 534-1158.
