SHARE S.L. COUNTY MAN FACES CHARGE OF ILLEGALLY SHOOTING 2ND ELK

A Salt Lake County man has been charged with shooting an elk and leaving it to rot.

Prosecutors say a 42-year-old man shot two elk on Sept. 24 in Harkers Canyon and left one elk to rot. The man had a permit to shoot one elk, according to documents filed in 3rd District Court.The suspect has been charged with wanton destruction of protected wildlife, a third-degree felony.
