SHARE NORWEGIAN FIRM TO BUILD 2 ROYAL CARIBBEAN LINERS

Europe's largest shipbuilder, Kvaerner ASA, said Friday it won a $1 billion contract to build two liners for Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Kvaerner said the ships will be the world's largest cruise liners with a capacity of 3,100 passengers each. The vessels will be delivered in 1999 and 2000 from Kvaerner's shipyard in Turku, Finland.Kvaerner, based in Olso, Norway, also provides construction, oil and gas, metal and wood products and owns the Cunard cruise company.
