Westminster College President Peggy Stock has announced three appointments in key administrative areas.

Anne Macdonald has been named director of communication and will be responsible for bringing uniformity to internal and external communications at the college, including media relations and publications.Macdonald has worked as a reporter, freelance writer and writing consultant for professionals. She also served as director of public information for Harvey Mudded College, Claremont, Calif.; director of public relations for the University of Pittsburg at Bradford; and with UCLA's and Cal-tech's NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

"Anne has the creative background and planning experience that will complement the team we currently have in place," Stock said.

Lynn Ward has been appointed director of research for institutional advancement.

Ward will be responsible for ensuring that the research needed to carry out the school's fund-raising programs is accurate and comprehensive. Prior to her appointment, she served as marketing project manager for Libra Corp.

"This position combines Lynn's strong business background and experience in education," said Janet Glaeser, vice president for institutional advancement. "Thorough research is the backbone for successful fund-raising."

Lisa Actor will serve as major gifts officer for Westminster. Her job entails seeking grants and donations from corporations and foundations.

Glaeser said, "Lisa is a great addition to the college. Her enthusiasm and fund-raising abilities are a valuable addition to Westminster's advancement team."

Actor served as executive director of the Public Education Foundation in Edmonds, Wash., and was involved in membership fund raising for the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce.

She was an officer in the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration for four years, conducting hydrographic surveys and marine mammal research in Alaska and Hawaii.
