Mobutu Sese Seko, the ailing president of Zaire, Monday left the Geneva luxury hotel where he has been staying. His plane later took off from the airport, but his destination was not known.

Seko, 66, has been in Switzerland since an operation in August. The Paris daily Le Monde reported over the weekend that he suffers from prostate cancer that has spread to his bones.
