DEATH: JEAN NAY

Our kind and beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Mae Jean Rasmussen Chidester Nay, age 73, died November 3, 1996 at her home in Richfield, after a lingering illness.

She was born August 9, 1923, in Salina, Utah, a daughter of Francis (Frank) Marion and Emella Josephine Meyer Rasmussen. She married Orson Christensen and was later divorced. She married Milton Chidester May 10, 1941 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, March 10, 1963. He died November 8, 1968. She married John Clinton Nay, February 26, 1972 in Richfield, Utah. He died March 11, 1987. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as Relief Society president and in all the auxiliaries. She served a full time mission to the San Diego California Mission from June 15, 1988 to June 15, 1989.She is survived by her children, Lynnda and Henry Nielsen of Sigurd; John Scott and Kathleen Chidester of Moreland, Idaho; Beth and Robert Anderson of Koosharem; Gary R. and Wendy Chidester of Elko, Nev.; David M. Chidester of Richfield; step daughter, Karen Elizabeth Jenson of Clarkston, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Frank Rasmussen and Vee Christensen, both of Bicknell. She was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Lee Christensen; three granddaughters, Hattie Anderson, Jewell Anderson, Mary Nielsen, and a sister, Florence Crane.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, 1996 at 12 noon, in the Richfield 4th LDS Ward Chapel, located at 159 North 400 West in Richfield. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday morning form 10:30 to 11:30 prior to the services. Burial will in the Richfield City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
