COLD TURKEY 6K. Cold Turkey run at 10 a.m. from mouth of City Creek Canyon, up 3K and back down. Bring spiked shoes in case of ice, warms socks and gloves. $15. 583-6281.


SKI SCHOOL. The 49th session of the Deseret News Ski School will begin Nov. 16. The three remaining classes will be at Alta on Nov. 23 and Dec. 7 and 14. Cost of four 2-hours lessons is $15. For information call 942-3100 or 237-2135.

SKI SWAP. The 13th annual Rowmark Ski Academy Ski Swap will be held Oct. 25-26 at the school, 970 E. 800 South. More than 20,000 ski-related items will be available to buyers. Hours are 7 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 25 and 10 a.m to 6 p.m. on Oct. 26. Admission is $3 for adults and $4 for families on Friday and $2 for adults and $5 for families on Saturday. 355-3943.

SKI BLITZ. Salt Lake County is offering a skki and snowboard program for Hr. high students in the Granite, Jordan and Salt Lake school districts begining in January. Registration deadlines are Dec. 13 for session I and Jan. 24 for session 2. Cost is $75 which includes 2 hour lessons and 1 1/2 hours free ski time each week and free transportation to Brighton Ski Resort. 468-2560.


LESSONS. Farmington is offering youth tennis for people starting at age 5. Call for registration times. $20 per participant.

CORPORATE CHALLENGE - SL County Park and Rec. is sponsoring a corperate league with teams advancing to an elimination tournament. All teams are guaranteed 8 games. Available in men's women's and coed. $225 per team. 538-0075, 538-2062.

ADAPTED RECREATION. Salt Lake County Parks & Rec is offering recreation and leisure activities for individuals with physical and/or mental disabilities. 466-2299. An arts a

Associated Wheels of Utah, meets the 2nd Monday of each month at Round Table Pizza on 54th South and Redwood Road to plan the Annual Charity Car Show. Proceeds go to help individuals with mental retardation. All are invited to attend, club member or not. 364-5060.

CHILD CARE PROGRAM. Salt Lake Country Parks and Rec. is offering a fun child care package at Peruvian Park Elementary School. 576-6519.

HOCKEY. Western Inline Hockey Association starting a league to play every Saturday, ages 16 and up. 825-9312.

SL County Rec is looking for players for check and non-check leagues for Sunday nights. 468-2560.

JR. RACQUETBALL. Drop in leagues are scheduled at Alta Canyon Sports form 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

SHOOTING. The Salt Lake Practical Shooting Association will hold monthly matches and practice sessions. Monthly matches will be held at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at the Hendricksen PMAA range at the East Canyon exit of I-80 in Parleys Canyon. Call 580-7836 or 942-8573.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING. Salt Lake County Parks and Rec. is sponsoring three teen strength and conditioning camps in July and August. Each camp is $100. 253-4404.

WEIGHT TRAINING. Alta Canyon Sports is offering Teen Weight Training Workouts Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-6 p.m., and on Saturday 10-11 a.m. Coaching provided. Fee is $1.50 for area residents, $2.50 for others. 942-2582. . . . They also are sponsoring a weight resistance and circuit training class that targets all four components of fitness: strength muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility.

13 & 14 This Is the Place - Christmas Candlelight Tours of the park's recreated pioneer town of Old Deseret will be held, from 6-0 p.m. each night. In the town's homes villagers will be preparing for Christmas, making decoration, treat and special toys. Also 16-17 & 27 & 28.
