Royal Anderson Bagley, 74, of Moroni, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996 in Moroni, Utah
He is the son of Royal and Mary Ann "Mamie" Anderson Bagley. Royal was born in Moroni, Utah, August 26, 1922. He is a veteran of World War II. He obtained a degree as a doctor of veterinary medicine in 1952 from Colorado State University. He eventually returned to Moroni, Utah to practice veterinary medicine and raise his family in a safe and rural environment. He loved his family and the Lord and put them each foremost in his life.He was employed by Moroni Feed Company for 28 years. Royal is highly esteemed in his chosen profession, the community and by his family. Royal served as the president of the American Association of Avian Pathologist in 1970-71, president of the Utah Veterinary Medical Association in 1969-70; board member of the Sanpete Valley Hospital; a Silver Beaver Scouter and on the Utah National Parks BSA executive board.
Royal was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in many positions and was involved in scouting and was a member of the Moroni Stake Presidency for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Iris Mary-Ellen Goodwin Bagley of Moroni. He is also survived by his children, Roger L. (Jenna), Los Alamos, N.M.; Laura Blackham (Leonard), Moroni; Bruce R. (Bonnie), Clarkston, UT; Janice Nelson (Kay), Moroni; Beth June McArthur, Mt. Pleasant, UT; Lynn G. (Marilyn), Hope Mills, N.C.; Darrel M. (Lori), Maroni; and Nathaniel "Bobby" Bowman (Leisa), Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by his brother Heber Clay Bagley, Payson, UT; and his sisters Marion Peterson, West Valley City, UT and Loeta Allred, Sandy, UT. He is preceded in death by his sister Phyllis Hall. He has 35 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 24, 1996 in the Moroni Stake Center. A viewing will be held at the Ursenbach Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, December 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 at the Moroni Church. Interment will be at the Moroni City Cemetery.
