On Febraury 8, 1996, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Steven Emerson Kirkland, returned to his Father-in-Heaven at the age of 80.

Steven was born in Kemp, Georgia on December 20, 1915 to Benjamin Franklin Kirkland and Bessie Mae Stevens. He married Mary Evelyn Temples June 18, 1935. Following his deeply religious beliefs, he moved to Utah in 1942, to pursue his search for knowledge and truth. He married Sylvia Barton July 8, 1952.A master of several trades, he was an accomplished brick mason, lineman, carpenter, plasterer, farmer, nurseryman, bookkeeper and story teller.

His main love was his wives and family.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia; 12 sons, six daughters, 104 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; two infant daughters, four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, one brother.
