Bronze statuary seems to be the thieves' prize these days in Utah County.

On the heels of the recovery of an eagle broken and taken from the yard of the Springville Art Museum, Provo police reported that a $4,200 statue was stolen last week from the foyer of Excel Graphics at 1775 S. 350 East.Capt. George Pierpont described the statue as an original limited edition by Grey Price. It is of a young girl wearing a dress and holding a water pail.

The statue is 2 feet tall and weighs between 75-100 pounds. It was standing on a heavy base in the carpeted foyer area.

Thieves apparently walked away with the art piece at midnight Feb. 13. There was no sign of forced entry at the business, said Pierpont.
