SHARE OSBORNE LOSES IN SEMIS OF DOUBLES PLAY

Jim Osborne lost in his bid for the men's 50 doubles title on Monday in the National Indoor Tennis Championships at the Snowbird Canyon Racquet Club.

Osborne, coach of the BYU men's tennis team, and partner Dick Johnson of Ballwin, Mo., lost to Wesley Jackson of and Doug Ruffin of Olympia, Wash., 7-6, 3-6, 6-1.David Nash of Edina, Minn., the No. 4 seed, won the men's 50 singles title over Johnson, the No.1 seed, 1-6, 7-5, 6-4. Nash beat Osborne, the No. 5 seed, in semifinal play on Sunday.

Ruffin won the men's 45 title when challenger Buster Brown of Asheville, N.C., was forced to retire after the first set because of an injury. Brown won the first set 7-6.
