SHARE CENTRAL UTAH FOOD BANK GETS A SUBSTANTIAL DONATION

The Central Utah Food Sharing program has received a substantial donation to help hungry Millard County residents.

The Brush Wellman Inc. mining mill near Delta, its employees and Jazz all-star Karl Malone teamed up in a successful effort to raise 32 cases of food for the food bank, officials reported.Brush Wellman pledged to buy one can of food for each point Malone scored through Dec. 30 and donate it to the Food Bank. He scored 765 points. Many of the corporation's employees donated money.

Among the food items distributed were peanut butter, sugar, powdered milk, pumpkin, yams, olives and cranberry sauce. The goods also included several cases of toilet paper, officials said.

The Central Utah Food Sharing program, with headquarters in Richfield, has food-bank outlets in each south-central Utah county.
