SHARE FORMER BROADCAST EXECUTIVE PAUL H. EVANS DIES AT AGE 70

Paul H. Evans, 70, electrical engineer and former broadcast executive at KSL Radio and Television and Bonneville International Corp., died Feb. 23, 1996, in a Salt Lake hospital after a long illness.

He joined KSL Radio in 1946, working 44 years for the station and for Bonneville. For 20 years he was in charge of electrical and sound engineering for the annual America's Witness for Christ Pageant at the Hill Cumorah in New York.For 27 years Mr. Evans was executive producer and production director of the Salt Lake Tabernacle Choir radio and television broadcasts.

He was the first producer and technical director for broadcasts of the Utah Symphony Orchestra, director of music performances and engineering for Columbia Records with recordings of the Tabernacle Choir. Also, he was executive director and producer for general conference broadcasts of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral services will be held at noon Friday in the Mt. Olympus 6th Ward, 4407 S. Fortuna Way. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
