SHARE MERIT MEDICAL HAS A RECORD QUARTER

Merit Medical Systems Inc., 1600 W. Merit Parkway, a company manufacturing disposable medical devices, had net income of $454,904 in the fourth quarter 1995, up from a net loss of $234,418 in the same quarter a year ago.

Fred P. Lampropoulos, president and chief executive officer, said the company had record revenue of $10.9 million in the quarter, a 22 percent increase over the $8.9 million in revenue in the same quarter in 1994.For the 12 months ending Dec. 31, Merit Medical had net income of $1.2 million or 18 cents per share compared with net income of $1.3 million in 1994. Revenue for 1995 was $42.6 million compared with revenue of $33.3 million in 1994.

Lampropoulos said, "Merit experienced a considerable decrease in selling, general and administrative expenses as a percentage of sales during the fourth quarter of 1995 compared to 1994, and we continue to see improvement in revenues."
