Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Walter Thomas Madill, 73, died February 26, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born May 17, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of William C. and Leah Spicer Madill. Married Ethel Martin in Salt Lake City, Utah; she preceded him in death January 24, 1987. Member, LDS Church. Member of the Board of Directors of State Bank of Townsend. Spent his life farming in the Granger area until 1961 when he moved to Townsend, Montana, where he built up a successful farming business until his retirement in 1992.Survived by: Sons, Ronald W. (LaDonna) Madill; Martin Lynn (ReNae) Madill; daughter, Lona M. (William) Bess; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann (Carl) Pettersson and Donna (Con) Stanger.

Friends and relatives in the Salt Lake area may call Thursday, February 29, 1996, 7 to 9 p.m., at McDougal Funeral home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 1996, 2 p.m., at the Townsend LDS Ward, 916 Broadway, Townsend, Montana, where friends may call Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Interment, Deep Creek Cemetery, Townsend, Montana. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
