A northern Utah career fair will be held April 10, at the Ogden Park Hotel. More than 50 local employers will be present to screen, interview and hire new workers. Jobs will range from entry-level with no required experience to positions requiring college degrees.
"There are over 300 new businesses begun in Ogden each year," Mayor Glenn J. Mecham said. "The benefits from the career fair to all businesses and to all people seeking employment are substantial," he added.The Ogden City Enterprise Community Program will sponsor two free workshops to prepare job seekers for the fair.
"Job Search Strategies for Everyone" will be offered Thursday, March 7, 7-9 p.m., at the Family Resource Center, Central Middle School, 781 25th St. A workshop titled "Make Your First Impression Count - Dress for Success!" will be taught Tuesday, March 19, 10 a.m. to noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2740 Pennsylvania Ave., West Ogden.
The workshops are free and open to the public. If you have never worked, want a better job or a new career, these workshops could help. Spanish translation will be available.
