Edith Fern Billings Rasmussen, 90, died Wednesday, January 31, 1996 in Logan, Utah at Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home, where she had resided for the past five years.

She was born October 20, 1905 in Provo, Utah, the daughter of John Dwight and Florence Pyne Billings. On June 4, 1930, she married D. Irvin Rasmussen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1979. She attended schools in Provo, and graduated from Brigham Young University with a teaching certificate in 1926. She was a teacher at the Old Maeser School in Provo until her marriage. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various organizations, receiving her 25 year pin for service in the Young Women's program. She was an active worker in PTA and other community service organizations in Logan, Ogden and Virginia.She is survived by one son and two daughters, Dr. David I. Rasmussen (wife, Deon), Tempe, Ariz.; Anne R. Rasmussen (husband, Russell), Logan; Julia R. Gustaveson (husband, Lee) of Bountiful; 13 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., where friends may call Monday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Edith Bowen Laboratory School at Utah State University in Logan.
