On February 3, 1996, after suffering a heart attack, Joyce Combe Jensen passed from this world to join her beloved husband in the next.

She was born in Ogden on February 12, 1922, to Israel and Florence Combe. She married the love of her life, Dwane G. Jensen, on July 19, 1946.She fondly remembered growing up in the Ogden area, graduating from Weber High, playing the drums in the Ogden band that greeted visiting celebrities, and in later years, working in the Brigham Scouting program.

She put her great passion for reading to good use by successfully helping to get grants for the Brigham Library and be previewing book tapes for the seeing impaired. But her greatest achievements were in being a caring friend, an excellent homemaker, a devoted wife and a loving mother.

She will be deeply missed by her son and three daughters, Steve D. Jensen and special friend Denise White of Salt Lake City, Connie and Dennis Dummer of Medford, Oregon, Diane and Allan Young of Corinne, and Eileen Jensen and special friend Anita Robison of Salt Lake City; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Mary Dale "Jimmy" Jones, Carol Fessler, Kenneth Combe, Wade Combe, and Clark Combe.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and dear husband.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 1996, 11 a.m. at the Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, where friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
