Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend, Carl Harold Johnstun, died at his home February 3, 1996.
Born November 19, 1931, in Price, Utah, son of Harold and Leona Wall Johnstun. Married Joyce Johnson January 29, 1952, in Price, Utah.After serving in the United States Navy, he worked as a heavy equipment operator for LJB Company. He later owned and operated the Tastee Freeze in Price. In February 1962, he went to work for Garrett Freight Lines (A.N.R.). He was a strong supporter of the Teamsters Union and became its local's secretary/treasurer before he retired in 1987. Carl was always hard working, honest and dependable.
He was a devoted family man. Many happy times were spent gardening or fishing and camping out with his family and friends.
Survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons and two daughters, Donald W. (Lori) of Magna, Craig H. (Loran), Campbell, Minnesota; Carlene Karr of Price, Kim (Ken) Kendall of Kearns; 13 grandchildren; sister, Betty White of Moab; and many wonderful friends. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 1 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m.-12:50 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Unity of Salt Lake's Spiritual Center Peace Garden, 141 East 5600 South, Murray, Utah.
