A man wanted in connection with a fatal car accident was arrested at the home of a friend.
Albert F. Turner, 23, of Duchesne County, was arrested without incident after he was located in a friend's attic with a police scanner, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Troy Marx."He knew we were coming so when he was caught, he was caught," Marx said. Roosevelt police had been tipped off earlier in the day about his whereabouts.
Turner is charged with one count of automobile homicide, a second-degree felony, in connection with the Dec. 30 accident that killed Jessica Vanderlinden, 18, Duchesne County. He has also been charged with driving on revocation, a Class A misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance, a Class B misdemeanor.
Investigators say Turner was driving under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of his vehicle and failed to negotiate a turn from U.S. 40 onto Ioka Lane. Vanderlinden was killed instantly during the one-vehicle crash. Police had been looking for Turner since he was released from the hospital, where he had been treated for shoulder injuries.
