The flat tax oratory appears to be used as a diversion from other issues. While taxation is an important issue, it is only a part of a much bigger package of which the deceptive wrappers should be removed.
Bureaucracy is like a cancer cell - it metastasizes and destroys the whole economic system. The destruction of the innate property rights and freedom of the individual, family and small business by the burdens and confiscations by the IRS keeps us all on a perpetual exhausting tread mill.The giveaway programs by our federal government resulting from this has been devastating to our country and is likened to the disease that brought on the fall of the Roman Empire.
