A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et Creation), the French fashion label that early on proved that classic, reasonably priced fashion could be funky, will distribute a catalog in the United States starting March 22.
The catalog, for women and men, will be produced twice a year. It will mimic the one A.P.C. has in Europe and Japan but will list prices in dollars. There will be no need for the fashion stylists and editors who have made A.P.C. a wardrobe staple while splashing it across their magazines to pull out their calculators.Recently, Jean Touitou, the owner of A.P.C., began working with Anna Sui. Ms. Sui created a terry-cloth sun dress for A.P.C. available in navy, black or acid green for about $133.
For the next catalog, Touitou said, Azzedine Alaia has agreed to create a swimsuit. Martine Sitbon and Julian Schnabel preceded Sui as guest designers. Sui and Touitou were introduced by Sitbon, a mutual friend.
A.P.C. has stores in Japan, London, Paris and New York.
