The City Council is pursuing a proposal by the Davis County Sheriff's Office to establish a police substation in the city offices.

City manager Richard Marchant said no contract has been drawn up yet, but the council believes the substation would benefit the city by creating a higher profile for the police. Davis County contracts with Fruit Heights to provide its police protection.West Point has already signed a similar deal with Davis County for its own sheriff's substation.
