The flying frigate
The frigate bird, a large tropical web-footed bird related to the pelican, also is called the man-of-warWith a 7-foot wingspan, it has great powers of flight and can sometimes be found 1,000 miles from land. Male frigates are glossy black and females are brown with white underparts.
They feed on fish that they eithre catch or steal by aggressively attacking other birds with their long, sharp beaks.
Comedy & diplomacy
English playwright and diplomat Sir George Etherege (1635-1691) achieved popularity with several humorous plays and lively farces after the Restoration of King Charles II in 1660.
These included "The Comical Revengs; or, "Love in a Tub," (1664) "She Wou'd If She Cou'd," (1668) and "The Man of Mode, or, Sir Fopling Flutter" (1676).
In 1679, Etherege was knighted and married a rich widow.
In 1685, James II appointed Etherege ambassador to the Bavarian court, but the revolution deposing James II later ended his diplomatic career and ruined him financially.
Etherege died in Paris.
