Salt Lake City School District will expand its Extended Learning Program by offering full-time classes at Whittier Elementary School beginning next fall.

Twenty-five placements each will be offered in kindergarten, first and second grades at Whittier, 1568 S. 300 East.The program is currently offered at Bennion and Lowell elementary schools. This fall, there will be 25 kindergarten placements at each school, 25 first- and second-grade placements at Whittier, 15 placements at Bennion plus a few additional placements in grades 1-6 at Lowell and grades 4-6 at Bennion.

Parent meetings about the ELP program will be conducted at Lowell Elementary School, 134 "D" St., later this month. A meeting on grades K-2 will be conducted Tuesday, March 26. A meeting on grades 3-6 will be held Thursday, March 28. Each meeting will begin at 7 p.m.
