J. Reed Stewart passed away March 10, 1996 in Salt Lake City at age 94.
He was born July 2, 1901 in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to William Davis and Alice Spratley Stewart, one of ten children. A graduate of Brigham Young University and the University of Denver Law School. Married Ellen Dahlstrom, July 16, 1928. He was a long time member of the Zion Lutheran Church.Survived by his wife, a daughter, Anne (Rev. C. Warren) Meyers, Riverside, Calif.; two sons, James R., Salt Lake City; and Paul A. (Jane), Mill Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren, Carla A. (Douglas) Smythe, Mentone, California; Timothy W. (Lisa) Meyers, Fortuna, California; Stewart M Meyers, Riverside, California; Jennifer A. and Andrew E. Stewart, Mill Valley, Calif.; one great-granddaughter, Hanna C. Smythe; three remaining sisters, Genevieve Gudmundson, June Whitby, Payson, Utah; and Lorraine Lott, American Fork. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, four sisters.
His accomplishments and virtues are known by many and speak for themselves.

Great appreciation is expressed to the Nursing, Physical Therapy and Pastoral Care staffs at Saint Joesph Villa for their loving Christian care during the last six months of Reed's early life.
