A "Celebration of the Century" in honor of Utah's centennial will be held in Gunnison on Saturday.
Highlighting the evening will be a buffet dinner and a program at 7 p.m. in the Gunnison Valley High School. "Silverado," a 200-member southern Utah children's choir, will perform.Dancing at 8 p.m. will put the spotlight on music from the Big Band Era, played by the Joe Muscolino Band. Paintings, antiques and 100-year-old displays, including quilts, will be shown, along with the works of Utah artist Eric Dowdle.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $5.50 per person at area businesses and the city halls in Gunnison and Centerfield. Participants will be eligible to win a Henry rifle valued at $2,500.
