Ed Harris didn't mince words at a Beverly Hills, Calif., luncheon for Oscar hopefuls: There's only so much room at the top.
"There are five nominees and one guy gets to take the thing home. I'd just as soon it'd be me," he told colleagues Tuesday.Harris is in the running for best supporting actor for his role as the Mission Control leader in "Apollo 13."
Kevin Spacey, nominated as supporting actor in "The Usual Suspects," summed it up this way: "It's a crapshoot, and I'm just happy to be here."
Also on hand: Joan Allen and Anthony Hopkins of "Nixon," Nicholas Cage and Elisabeth Shue of "Leaving Las Vegas" and Sharon Stone of "Casino."
