Our precious and beautiful mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, Madeline Anderson Madsen, 87, passed peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 1996 at her home in Richfield.
She was born July 9, 1908 to Minnie Rickenbach and Axel Anderson in Bingham, Utah. After her mothers death, when Madeline was only two years old, she and her brother and sister were raised by their grandparents in Glenwood, Utah. She married Neil S. Madsen, September 25, 1929 in Glenwood and had almost 61 lovely years together before his passing on July 1, 1990.She leaves behind two daughters, Patricia M. (Richard) Erickson, Vallejo, Calif.; Jeannine M. Olsen, Holladay, Utah; her dear sister, Melba A. Bohman, Monroe; five special grandchildren, Scott (Myra) Erickson, Diane (Clark) Wheeler, Michael Neil (Andrea) Olsen, Schyler Ted Olsen, Pattie Madeline (Steve) Davies; eight great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Anderson, Rio Dell, Calif.; Emma Madsen, Ogden; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Neal, brother, Gordon, son-in-law, Lornell "Ole" Olsen, granddaughter, Jan Johnson, great-grandson, Christopher M. Olsen.
She was long time member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as worthy matron several times. She was also a member of the LDS Church. Madeline will be missed so much by so many who will remember her for her wit and warm nature. She loved her family and was so proud of them. She also had great affection for her wonderful neighbors and friends.
Funeral services Saturday, March 16, 1996 at 12 Noon in the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Chapel. A gathering for family and friends will take place Friday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary, and again on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Richfield City Cemetery.
