Loren Edward Brady, 101, died Tuesday, March 12, 1996 in Pleasant Grove.

Loren was born September 21, 1894 at Fairview, Utah to Elias and Elsie Loretta Rollins Brady. He married Phydonia Stott on July 27, 1921 in Price. The marriage was solemnized October 17, 1923 in the Manti Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.He was an active member of the LDS Church and held the office of High Priest in the Pleasant Grove First Ward. He and his wife served on the old folks committee for many years. Loren was the secretary of the High Priest group and served under the direction of the group leader, Albert Olsen. He and his wife served a stake mission while living in Denver, Colorado. He served in the Provo Temple for a period of eight years and was a faithful home teacher for many years.

Loren was involved in sheep ranching and was a successful farmer.

His wife passed away March 19, 1986.

Loren was honored at the Pleasant Grove Community Fair not long ago as the only known survivor of World War I still living in Pleasant Grove. He was awarded a special medal just weeks ago as the only survivor of that war living in Utah County.

Survivors include four sons and two daughters: Archie (Norma) Brady, Vineyard; Lenore (Glenn) Nielsen; Lester M. (Jackie) Brady; Evan (Betty) Brady; LaRoss (JoAnne) Brady, all Pleasant Grove; and Ellen (Glade) Tregaskis, Heber; 29 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; one surviving brother, Lowell Brady, Richfield.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Stake Center, 275 East 500 South, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Friday, 6-8 p.m. or at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by District IV of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
