James Ray Carlton died Sunday March 10, 1996 of a life time illness.

He was born October 15, 1941, in San Diego, Calif., to Dorothy Jean Sweetland and Ray Carlton. He served in the Army from 1960-1962, then he was honorably discharged. He married Peggy Marie Thompson, they had three daughters together. Peggy died of cancer. He married later and had a son. Jim suffered all his life with his disease. He would over come it, and have a wonderful life, but the disease finally over took him.He was a very talented artist, loved to draw especially with his grandsons. He also loved to read and loved music. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren.

Surviving are his four children, Wendy Allred (Jon), West Jordan; Kimberly Burnett (Larry), West Jordan; Candice Hamre (Cory), West Valley; and James Carlton, Ogden; one brother, Gary Bitton, Ogden; and one sister, Tammy Austin, Glendale, Ariz. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Jeremy, Lorin, Nicholas, Ashley, Calli, and Chance, who miss their grandpa very much. He is preceded in death by his wife, mother, and grandparents.

Jim was loved very much by his family, who will always love and miss him.

Private graveside services will be held.
