Fifteen Utah Freemasons recently received national honors and were recognized in ceremonies in the Salt Lake Masonic Temple.

The honorees were announced in Washington, D.C., by the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction.Curtis N. Lancaster, Brigham City, was elected an active member of the council and crowned sovereign grand inspector general in Utah by C. Fred Klein-knecht, sovereign grand commander in Washington, D.C. Lancaster will lead the Scottish rite masonry in Utah.

Arthur A. Austin, Midvale; Lynn J. Brady, Eureka, Juab County; Howard E. Dorst, Logan; and Robert G. Kelm, Salt Lake City, were conferred inspector general honorary 33rd-degree Masons.
