Mary Jensen Christensen, 75, of Redmond, died March 11, 1996 in Provo, Utah.
She was born March 24, 1920 in Redmond, Utah to Ira Martin and Edna A. Shipp Jensen. She married Whitney Edward Christensen on March 29, 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple. She worked for Georgia Pacific and was very active in the LDS Church. She has been Primary president, chorister, a worker in the Name Extraction Program for Norway, visiting teacher, and many other church callings. She has been secretary of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed quilting and has made a quilt for all grandchildren and great-grandchildren to date. She loved to travel "expecially going on a cruise".She is survived by her husband, Whitney Christensen, Redmond, Utah; sons, Leon Whitney (Nayna) Christensen, West Valley City; Boyd J. (Judy) Christensen, Redmond, Utah; and Paul E. (Pauline) Christensen, West Valley City; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Doreen Thompson, Provo. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brenda, brother, Lynn and one sister, Enid Wintch.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 15, 1996 at 12 noon in the Redmond LDS Church. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home in Salina, and again on Friday at the chapel in Redmond from 10:30 to 11:30 prior to services. Interment in the Redmond City Cemetery under the direction of the Warren R. Jensen Funeral Home.
