Deanna (DeDe) L Cortisse finished her earthly course March 9, 1996, peacefully at her home in The Woodlands, Texas due to complications from ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, that she endured for the past six years. She was 51.
She was born in Logan, Utah, September 20, 1944. Married George Cortisse April 15, 1965; moved to Salt Lake City where they raised their two sons, Richard and Mikel, and a daughter, Letitia Huggans (husband, Raif). DeDe also has one granddaughter, Brittany Ann, Idaho Falls (through Richard). DeDe was a kind and gentle spirit and was a very enthusiastic praiser of Jehovah. She was associated with The Woodlands Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at the time of her passing, but had previously associated with the Kearns Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, in Utah for the past 24 years. She considered herself a Bible teacher, and said so when people asked what her occupation was. Because of that she taught by word and example of how to live as a Christian, helping many to find the truth that leads to eternal life. While she will be missed by those still on earth, she will be active in the Heavenly Realm, in which she held the hope of for many years. There was never anyone who met her that was not touched in some way by the love that she showed. Even in the final years, where she was totally dependant on others for even the simplest things, she sought to comfort and encourage those who came by, even when those calls were to comfort her. She has made a good name with her God, Jehovah. He is her strength and her light, and her service and worship will be toward Him forever. There will be a memorial service at the Kearns Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6148 South 4590 West, Kearns, Utah, Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m.
