The Young Parent Advocate Program volunteers have an impact on the lives of very young parents. The program is an outreach of the Children's Service Society.

They work one-on-one with a parent client to provide education materials on infant and child development and parenting skills. Volunteer advocates support the young parent's role in a positive way, encouraging positive thinking and parenting success. If the young parents' problems are extensive, the advocate connects them with additional community resources to help find con-structive solutions. Advocates promote self-sufficiency in parents and they also do things with the young parent.

Young Parent Advocate volunteers serve as role models by giving their time, effort and energy to improve the quality of life for young parents.
