An 18-year-old Enterprise man has been charged with possession of illegal pornography depicting child-sex acts and bestiality and showing the latter to a minor.
Adam Nicoll, arrested Saturday, made his first appearance in 5th Circuit Court on Tuesday and was charged with 14 counts of possessing images depicting sexual acts with a child.Nicoll also is accused of showing two images of a woman engaged in a sexual act with an animal to a 16-year-old.
All images were allegedly found on Nicoll's computer and supposedly downloaded from the Internet, said Wade Farraway, the Washington County deputy attorney prosecuting the case.
Washington County sheriff's deputies became aware of Nicoll's alleged possession of child pornography when the 16-year-old's parents reported it to them.
Nicoll allegedly threatened to kill the child if he or she told anyone about the pornography, according to sheriff's reports. Nicoll also was charged with making a terroristic threat, a misdemeanor.
After obtaining a search warrant, deputies searched Nicoll's computer and confiscated it for evidence.
Nicoll's preliminary hearing has not been scheduled. His bail has been set at $25,000 cash.
Farraway said he couldn't comment on the sheriff's investigation or if the Internet downloads could be traced.
"We would like to do that and get the people who created this trash," he said.
The county attorney's office is working with the Utah attorney general's office, he said.
